Q - How do I earn commission?

A - Beginning July 1st, 2005 Thrifty offers 3% commission on all bookings made on thrifty.com. Travel Agent bookings made via the GDS system or via the 1-800-Thrifty number will be paid 10% commission on leisure rentals and 5% on promotional discounts such as AAA and senior citizens. Commission is calculated on the lesser of booked (as shown on the reservation) versus actual (paid by customer) time and mileage charges.

Agents booking on-line at agent.thrifty.com will receive 10% + $1.00 for all reservations which become a completed rental.

Incentive fees/payments for other travel related organizations (i.e., airlines, Internet sites, etc.) may be available on a contract basis. If interested, contact Greg Billingsley at Thrifty 513-539-9133.

Individually contracted corporate rates are non-commissionable unless otherwise specified by written agreement with an agency or consortia.


Q - What if I have inquiries about my commissions?

A - Call us at 1-800-TABUCKS (1-800-822-8257) and we'll check into any inquiries you may have with your commission.


Q - How can I receive my commission payments and how often?

A - Thrifty pays commission twice a month via NPC. This will allow you to receive your payments twice a month directly into your agency's bank account. To sign up, simply print out the application in your GDS under keyword COMMISSION, fill it out and send it in.


Q - How do I receive promotional materials?

A - You can order all our available promotional items through the supply page of your GDS and queue us an order. Or you can call 1-800-441-5394.


Q - How can I book a reservation with Thrifty?

A - There are several ways to book, and ensure that you get your commission. You can use the GDS in your office, book through thrifty.com, or call us directly at 1-800-THRIFTY.


Q - What if I have trouble booking a reservation?

A - If you are booking through your GDS and need help, simply call our Travel Agent Help Desk at 1-800-527-7075. Our experienced staff is available to take your calls from 6AM to 9PM CST.


Q - How can I assure that my customer is aware of the rental city's policies when I send them on their way?

A - That's an easy one! Thrifty takes time and care to make sure that you have information such as hours of operation, car makes and models, and pickup information at your fingertips. You can easily access this information by going into the city policy area of your GDS.
