Q3 - Who is allowed to participate in Look To Book?

A3 - Membership is open to all travel agents who are members of ARC/IATA, and who make reservations through a CRS/GDS (Global Distribution System). Travel agents who do not have an ARC/IATA number may contact the Look To Book help desk at 800-333-5600, Option #4, for information on having a pseudo-IATA number created.

Q4 - How do travel agents enroll in Look To Book?

A4 - To become a member simply log on to www.looktobook.com. Travel agents may also enroll in the program by booking any Radisson property including Country Inns & Suites, Park Plaza and Park Inn. Simply make the reservation by typing in your first initial and last name in the Supplementary Information (SI) field.

Q5 - How are Look To Book points earned?

A5- Enrolled members will automatically earn points each time a reservation is made through a GDS and consummated at a Thrifty rental location WORLDWIDE. Reservations must include ZT and the first initial and last name of the agent in the Supplementary Information (SI) field of their reservation. Example: ZT-MSMITH.

Agents using Radisson's pseudo IATA numbers must use their account numbers (which begin with a V) in the SI field of their Thrifty bookings instead of their first initial and last name. Example: ZT-V1234567

Agents can also earn points at all Carlson Hotel chains by replacing the ZT with the appropriate chain code in the SI syntax shown above. Example: RD-MSMITH

  • Radisson Hotels & Resorts (chain code RD)
  • County Inns & Suites by Carlson (chain code CX)
  • ParkPlaza and Park Inn (chain code PD) U.S. and Canada properties only

Q6 - How many points may be earned?

A6 - Travel agents earn 5 points per dollar booked and subsequently rented with Thrifty. This compares with 10 points for hotel stays.

Q7 - How soon do travel agents receive their points?

A7 - Points for bookings are calculated by the reservation system at the time a CRS/GDS booking is confirmed and are classified as "pending points" until an actual rental occurs. At that time, we will process the points to Radisson for distribution to the agents account. Points are not "spendable" until the rental has occurred and the transaction has been posted with Radisson.

Note: Please allow 7 days for the points to be updated to the pending account as the points are not accumulated until the rental is consummated.

No-shows and cancelled reservations result in the loss of "pending points". Rate changes will increase or decrease the amount of "pending points" as appropriate.

Q8 - Are travel agents allowed to pool their points?

A8 - Participation in the Look To Book program is by individual account only. Pooling of points or agency accounts is against program rules and may result in the loss of points.

Q9 - Are Look To Book points transferable?

A9 - Points accrued by an individual member are not transferable under any circumstances, including death. Travel agents may contact the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option #4, with any questions regarding transferring points.

Q10 - Why do some travel agents have more than one account number?

A10 - They may have misspelled their name or put in extra information in the SI field, such as a billing code. They may also have booked under a different ARC/IATA number. All of these reasons will automatically assign the travel agent a new account number.

We encourage travel agents to merge their accounts to ensure they have access to all of their points. They may contact the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option #4, or fax a completed Merge Request Form to 402-498-8208.

Q11 - How often do travel agents receive account statements?

A11 - A few weeks after enrolling in Look To Book, travel agents receive a welcome letter confirming their new membership. After two bookings they also receive a Look To Book Rewards Catalog filled with an exciting selection of merchandise, trips and more. After that, travel agents will receive an account statement once each trimester.

Q12 - Why would a travel agent not receive a statement?

A12 - If we receive returned mail, the account is marked "non-mailable" and no further correspondence is sent. Travel agents that do not receive a statement should contact the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option #4, to verify the address on their account.

Q13 - Do Look To Book points expire?

A13 - Travel agents are advised that points may expire if there is no activity on the account in a 12-month period. Although Look To Book has not yet taken that step, it is possible that points in inactive accounts may expire in the future.

Q14 - Do points have to be used up before the end of each year?

A14 - No, points roll over from one year to the next.

Q15 - Can travel agents "borrow" against their pending points?

A15 - Travel agents can only redeem points that are classified as "spendable".

Q16 - Can statements be sent to the travel agent's home address?
